BGC Family Center Recognizes Parent Elicia Rodriguez
The Boys & Girls Club Family Center is proud to recognize families for their accomplishments and commitments to their success. Last year we began to recognize parents/guardians in a small way by acknowledging their commitment to their child/ren. In particular, academic success and 100% school attendance including no tardiness. This year we decided to add Family Center volunteerism, commitment to and respect for the Boys & Girls Club Mission.
The Boys & Girls Club Family Center is proud to recognize Elicia Rodriguez. Elicia began sending her children to the Family Center in February 2018. At that time, she introduced us to her daughters Katalina and Celia. We were later introduced to our newest Club Member John who joined our Preschool program last month.
Upon meeting Elicia, it was very clear that she wanted the best for her children and it was important that we “know” her children. This included what motivates them and what supports they would need to be successful while at the Club. This was demonstrated by her desire to volunteer and take full advantage of all the Club has to offer.
Elicia has attended Day for Kids, the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner, took advantage of the Home City Housing Family Holiday party invite, attended Thunderbird Hockey Games and her daughters recently enjoyed going to the Family Centers’ first Father/Daughter Dance. She supports her daughters in their Club interests including Power Hour Homework Help, Cheerleading, Art expression and cooking classes. Lastly, Elicia ensures that her children attend regularly. Her daughter Celia has had 100% attendance this year!
Thank you Elicia for being you. A dedicated, committed and amazing example for your family and community. “Yay you Elicia!”
